Concept Cars never made

The Mazda Furai debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and marked the final concept in Mazda’s fluid Nagare line. Its name, meaning “sound of the wind”, was fitting: the Furai was powered by an all-new 20B 3-rotor wankel engine that was good for over 400 hp.

Lamborghini has never built a production sedan. The Estoque was revealed in Geneva in 2008 and looked like it was intended to be a production model. The Estoque had all the makings of a top-end sedan, including a powerful 5.2-liter V10 engine.

The Renault DeZir Concept. Though it was only powered by a 150 hp electric motor, its sexy sheet metal stole the show at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

The HX Concept was going to be the one that saved Hummer. Smaller than the H3, the HX still had Hummer DNA but in a far less clumsy manner. The HX came far too late to save Hummer.

The Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina is a one-off sports car made by Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari but redesigned by Pininfarina. The car was an Enzo Ferrari. The project cost US$ 4 million and was officially presented to the public in August 2006.

Cadillac Sixteen Concept. The Cadillac Sixteen is a high performance concept car first presented by Cadillac in 2003. The vehicle is equipped with a Cadillac proprietary-developed 32-valve V16 engine displacing 13.6 liters (~830 cu. in) mated to a four-speed, electronically controlled, automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The Sixteen would seamlessly shut down twelve cylinders in light driving, eight during strenuous driving, and only awaken the entire engine under full acceleration. The engine was said to produce a minimum of 1,000 horsepower.

BMW M1 Hommage Concept. The M1 Hommage was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este in Italy in 2008.

The concept marked a celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the original German supercar.

The Citroën GT Concept. In a partnership between the French automaker and racing simulation developer Polyphony Digital, the GT was designed and created for Gran Turismo 5. The car weighs a mere 3,086 pounds and houses a Ford V8 with 646 horsepower.

The Ford Interceptor is a concept car debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It features a Ford Racing 5.0-liter Cammer engine producing 600 hp (450 kW), with the capability of running on E-85 ethanol. It includes a manual six-speed transmission.

No single machine from the film Mad Max was as memorable as Max's Pursuit Special, a 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT351.

Find priceless, 2,500-year-old gold and silver Greek and Roman coins and it's a major discovery. 40 silver Greek coins, three gold Greek coins and a dozen gold Roman coins — one from each era of the first 12 Roman emperors, from Julius Caesar to Domitian. They range in date from the fifth century B.C. to the late first century A.D. The coins were donated in 1935 to the UB Libraries Special Collections by Thomas B. Lockwood as part of a larger collection of rare books.

Crater of Diamonds State Park

Crater of Diamonds State Park is a 911-acre (369 ha) Arkansas state park in Pike County. The park features a 37.5-acre plowed field ... the world's only diamond-bearing site accessible to the public. The diamond-bearing soil in the search area is plowed periodically to help bring more diamonds to the surface.

The Arkansas Diamond Mine at Crater of Diamonds State Park has a policy of "finders, keepers," meaning the diamonds you find are yours to keep. Diamonds were first discovered in 1906 when John Huddlestone found two strange crystals in the soil of his farm. Word of the discovery spread and a "diamond rush" began. Soon thousands of people descended upon the Murfreesboro area, however, the Huddlestone farm and immediately adjacent land was the only location with promise of becoming a diamond mine. The diamond-bearing pipe was several hundred yards in diameter. There are other volcanic pipes in the area but they have yet to yield more than a few diamonds.

Prior to Huddlestone's discovery, geologists at the Arkansas State Geological Survey suspected that diamonds might occur in the greenish peridotite soils near Murfreesboro because they were similar to the soils above the African diamond deposits. They did fieldwork in the area but did not find any diamonds.

Since the park opened in 1972 there have been about 30,000 reported diamond finds. Most of the diamonds found are very small - too small for cutting into a mountable stone. The 30,000 stones reported have an aggregate weight of a little under 6,000 carats, making the average stone about twenty points (.20 carat) in weight.

Although most stones found are small, some spectacular diamonds have been found. The "Uncle Sam Diamond", the largest diamond ever found in the US, was found there in 1924. This pale brown, 40.23 carat stone was found in 1924 by W.O. Bassum. It was cut into an emerald-cut gem weighing 12.42 carats which was sold in 1971 for $150,000.

The largest diamond ever found by a park visitor was a 16.37-carat white diamond found in 1975, named the "Amarillo Starlight". The 4.25-carat "Kahn Canary" was worn by first lady Hillary Clinton at her husband's Presidential Inaugural galas in 1993 and 1997 as a special way to represent Arkansas's diamond site. The diamond's owner, Stan Kahn of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, loaned the diamond to Mrs. Clinton.

The "Strawn-Wagner Diamond" was found in 1990 by Shirley Strawn. This 3.09 carat stone was cut into a 1.09 carat brilliant-cut gem. It was the first stone to receive a perfect grade of 0/0/0 by the American Gem Society. A number of beautiful canary-colored diamonds have been found at the Park. The most famous is the "Okie Dokie Diamond" found in 2006 by Marvin Culver.

2016 Corvette Z07

The seventh generation corvette, the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z07 is being kept under lock and key by the car manufacturer. The big reveal will officially happen close to the end of 2015 at the Detroit Motor Show. Pricing of the Z07 is expected to be around $100,000.

The 2016 Corvete Z07 will have two engine variants. The first is a 4.5 liter twin-turbo generating up to 500 horsepower. The second will be a 6.2 liter V8 producing over 600 horsepower. Both engines will be mated with the seven speed Tremec TR-6070 manual transmission and an eight speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
